Pacheco has swapped from the No.42 shirt to No.12 this term, a change which followed a phone conversation with the manager.
"I was at home one day and the manager rang me and said he wanted me to change my number to 12 and go into the first-team dressing room," explained Pacheco to liverpoolfc.tv. "Of course I said 'Okay'.
"It's a very big step to go from the reserves to the first team, but maybe less so in England than Spain because you're training all the time with the first team."
The talented Spaniard - who was voted Player of the Tournament at this summer's European U19 Championships - was brought to Merseyside by fellow countryman Rafael Benitez.
So how is he finding life under an English boss?
"I am really happy working with Roy Hodgson," said the teenager. "He's doing great. We're working very hard in training and working a lot on tactics and technical things. All of us are very happy.
"Maybe training has changed a little bit because there are a lot of new technical and medical staff, but everything is going in the right direction."
