Dirk Kuyt confirms Inter talks.

Dirk Kuyt has confirmed there were negotiations with Inter Milan this summer but he insists he is happy to stay at Liverpool.

Kuyt, 30, joined Liverpool from Feyenoord in 2006 and became a firm favourite under Rafael Benitez and, amid reports Inter were targeting the player, Roy Hodgson said he believed there was "something going on behind the scenes, possibly involving the agent of Dirk Kuyt and the manager of Inter".

Kuyt has now confirmed talks took place but says he has no objection to remaining in England.

"I cannot deny there were negotiations with Inter," he said. "It was pleasing to be courted by such a prestigious club, led by the coach who brought me to England and with whom I still have a splendid rapport. However, Liverpool declared I was not for sale and I am in any case happy to have stayed in the Premier League."
