Spurs new boy Rafael Van der Vaart reveals Liverpool FC snub.

Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he snubbed a deadline day move to Liverpool in favour of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Anfield representatives held preliminary talks with the former Real Madrid attacker, 27, in April with a view to a summer switch but turned down a transfer to Merseyside in favour of Champions League football with the North Londoners.

Van der Vaart claims that reported interest from Bayern Munich never materialised and he has a 'good feeling' about working with Spurs' boss Harry Redknapp following his £8million move to White Hart Lane.

“Liverpool were interested. Bayern were not interested,” he said.

“In the end you have to have a good feeling, and with this manager I got a good feeling. I am happy and I am going to Spurs.

“I am going to give it my best and hopefully I will play a lot of games and be important for the team. I hope to get a lot of goals and have a lot of fun.”
