Garcia reveals Torres regret.

Luis Garcia has spoken of his admiration for Fernando Torres and revealed that he would love to have had the chance to partner the striker in Liverpool's attack.

The former Reds forward may have made the opposite move to El Nino when he swapped Merseyside for Madrid back in the summer of 2007 but it hasn't stopped him wondering what might have been had he remained in L4 to link up with his compatriot.

"If you ask me how much I would like to have played alongside Fernando for Liverpool, then the answer would be a lot!" Garcia told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"I played with some very good forwards when I was at Anfield, like Milan and Djibril, but Fernando is special.

"To play with him is a pleasure and I would love to have done it at Liverpool. I know him very well and played with him for the national team so I think it would have worked."

Garcia was also keen to hail the summer signing of Joe Cole, a player he believes can make a huge impact for Roy Hodgson's men in the remainder of the season.

"During my time at Liverpool I was a big fan of Joe Cole when he was playing at Chelsea. So, now I'm delighted he is at Liverpool and I'm really looking forward to watching him do well in a red shirt," he added.

"He is a big, big player and has a huge amount of quality. He will go on to be a really important player for Liverpool, I've no doubt about that."
