Lucas: Liverpool are improving.

Liverpool anchorman Leiva Lucas is confident the club are heading in the right direction after they managed to beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 on Sunday.

Roy Hodgson's battling outfit grabbed all three points thanks to Maxi Rodriguez's late effort that saw them climb away from the Premier League relegation zone.

The Brazilian admitted the clash at the Reebok Stadium was a tough battle, but believes the Merseysiders, who have leapt into mid-table, can kick-on and continue their rise up the standings.

"It's three points and I think everyone can see we are improving all the time," said Lucas.

"Of course we were under pressure. We still have to improve in the league, but I think we are going the right way.

"In every game we are playing better and hopefully now in the next few games we get points and improve our position. The only way is playing well and I think winning will give everyone the confidence to keep going."
